How To Fix Desktop.ini Bug In Windows 7(Build 7057)

In Windows 7 OS Build 7057, a text file name Desktop.ini is opening every time when the computer starts. This computer problem irks everyone, making us to close this text file everytime when the system starts. There is a tip to prevent this bug in Windows 7 OS.



There are two methods to prevent this Desktop.ini computer bug in Windows 7. If the first method does not work, follow the second method.

Method 1:

1. First delete the file named Desktop.ini in the startup folder. To open the startup folder follow the path “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup”.

2. Now, Navigate to "C:\Users\%Username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Start Menu\Programs\Startup"

3. Delete desktop.ini if it is there.

Method 2:

1. Open Folder Options window, select view tab and select “show hidden files, folders and drives” and uncheck “hide protected operating system files”.


2. Now you can see Desktop.ini file.

3. Open the start menu, type Shell:Startup in the search box, then startup folder is opened. Delete the file Desktop.ini if present.

4. Open the start menu, type Shell:commonStartup in the search box, then startup folder for all users will open, if you find desktop.ini file, delete it.

5. Finally, reboot your system.
